Ella Sharp Service Learning Final Post

Last Saturday I completed my service learning assignment with the Ella Sharp Museum and Art Gallery.  Looking back on my experience I believe that it was extremely positive and growth promoting.  I have plans to continue working with Brad Zenz, the Director of Art Education for the museum.

Brad and I worked with over 40 participants in the second Saturday art tutorial hosted by the museum.  The children and their parents and grandparents who participated really seemed to enjoy the experience, we called it Turkey Madness.  I'll attach a picture of the demos I  created for the project.  Brad and I concur that word of mouth has caused this activity to grow in popularity, we discussed having to move to a larger room within the gallery if this growth trend continues.

I have agreed to assist Brad in the next Saturday tutorial before Christmas, we discussed a few ideas for that upcoming project.  Brad also asked me to teach a weekly preschool art class that begins in February.  I have gladly agreed to do this as long as it doe not conflict with my academic schedule, or other employment possibilities (hah-hah-hah).  A little unemployment humor!
